Annecy is known as the ‘Venice of Savoy’ for its beautiful criss-crossing of canals. The banks of the Canal are especially popular for strolling in the evening. The medieval streets are well worth exploration. In the old part of the town, you can enter the inner yards of the 11th century castle as well as the old prisons dating from the Middle Ages.

Modern shops offer gear hire for those looking to participate in the assortment of water sports at the lake. Luxurious cafés are perfect for afternoon refreshments. Downtown Annecy and the lake are connected by a canal that navigates through cobbled streets and charming houses.

Evian is a traditional charming lakeside casino spa town and considered to be one of France's top resorts for the variety of sports including golf, skiing, sailing and for its healthy spa baths, not to mention its famous mineral water. Set amongst the foothills of the chablais region the town is built in the shape of an ampitheatre on the edge of Lake Geneva. Evian faces Switzerland and the city of Lausanne the other side of the lake.
